Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge - Day 3: Warm vs Cool

Happy Monday guys! It's my first official day on holiday and I couldn't have spend it doing more things. I've organized my closet, got rid of all the clothes I didn't want anymore and I cleanded all my room. What a morning I had. However this afternoon I am going window shopping to Barcelona.

Today is Monday and that means Lindsey and I are posting our new designs for the NAGG challenge. Today's theme was warm vs. cool colors. At first I wasn't very inspired by this theme but I ended up doing a mosaic design which you will love.

Mother of Dragons

Hello guys! We are halfway through the week and I managed to do some nail art during my study breaks. I had my phonetics exam today and I hope it went well. Let's get to the pont though. I did this great design inspired by dragon scales now that season four of Game of Thrones is near. I can't wait, are you as excited as I am?

Queen of Hearts

Hey guys! I am back from London, in fact I came back on Wednesday but I've been recovering. I was exhausted. I saw lots of things and I had a fantastic time. Let's get to what really matters, my new design inspired by Nicole gets Nailed.

Valentine's day is near and I wanted to do something related but not that obvious. I'm not a fan of pink and girly manis so I did this Queen of Hearts manicure. You could wear it for Valentine's day esasily. Eventhough I don't think a queen who cuts people's heads off is very romantic, don't you think?

I did little hearts on my thumb as I did little crowns on my pinky to finish the design. Even if the design isn't that related to Valentine's day I think you could pull it off, and if not it's perfect for any other occasion.

These are all the colors I used. I realised they are practically the same ones as I used in my Pick Me Some Daisies design, except the red of course.

I had a wonderful time in London and I wish I could have stayed longer, everyone loved my London inspired nails. But I have to go back to my normal life. On Monday I'm going back to uni so work and studying again... I hope this last weekend of freedom is great! Have a nice weekend and happy polishing!

London, Here I Come!

Hey guys! Tomorrow morning I'm leaving for my three day trip to London and of course my naisl had to match the occasion. I'll just be there for two nights but I'm so excited about it. I've just been there once and I was like six years old, I can hardly remember anything.

I tried to put the most iconic elements on this design. My index is the subway sign, my middle finger is of course the Union Jack, a typical red phone box on my ring finger and a bit of the subway map on my pinky. On my thumb I tried to paint a nice crown wich turne out quite good.

Red and blue are the stars of this mani but I also used other colors like gold polish for the crown. Here are all the polishes I used to create this manicure.

I'll just be away until Wednesday and I already have a post planned for when I come back. Probably I'll post it on Thursday because I'm arriving late on Wednesday. Have a nice week, I will sure enjoy my time away. I will tell you all about it when I come back. Happy polishing!!

Pick Me Some Daisies

Hey guys! For today I have on of the first ever designs I made, a daisy design. When I started in nail art I fell in love with this design, daisies over black. I thought it looked so classy and pretty, so today I wanted to recreate it.

I really like how they turned out. The flowers look quite nice, at least better than when I did daisies the first time. It's a simple design and it can be worn anytime, spring is better for them but who cares, I hate winter and these nails make it less cold. If you think the same, I have a tutorian on this look right here with another very cute spring themed design. Check it out if you like.

These are the colors I used to create this design. Bothe yellows are in the middle of the flowers mixed I wanted it to look bright but the Astor color was a bit too much.

Vintage Floral Tutorial

Hello lovelies! I have a tutorial  on my vintage floral design for you today. I told you I would post it soon and here you are.

1. Paint your nails with your favorite base coat and paint them black or any other dark color like brown or navy blue.

2. For the flowers you need three shades for each color of flower. You can mix them until you find the three shades that you need for each flower. These are the colors for the pink flowers.

3. With the lightest color paint some abstract shapes, not perfect circles just get your brush and create random irregular spots.

4. With the other two darker shades just paint over with random strokes just like this:

5. Repeat with all the colors you want and then add a top coat and you have already finished this easy floral design.

These are all the colours used for this design. Try and get three colors that are really similar so you have three shades for each flower. If not you can mix them together to make them look more the same.

Houndstooth Pattern

Hi guys! I decided to try something I had never done before, houndstooth pattern. I've had some problems with my computer and I had to retake the photos of this mani just today so they don't look as good as the first day.

I found it a quite difficult, I don't know if you guys have a easier way to do houndstooth or you are just better than me. It took me ages to paint each nail and they still don't look as perfect as the ones I've seen around. However, it was the first time I did them so I'm quite pleased with the result.

It's just a quick post today, I'm on holiday and I'm a busy girl trying to enjoy each second of freedom I have. In a week I'm going to London so I'm pretty excited about that too. I hope you liked my attempt at houndstooth nails. Have a nice rest of week and happy polishing!

Vintage Floral

Hey guys! I've finally finished my exams so three weeks of holidays and intense nail art awaits me. I've been a bit absent and in these three weeks I'll try and compensate it. Today I did a nice floral mani. I'm not that good at floral designs as you know but I got a really nice inspiration and I did this.

I went shopping the other day and I found a wonderful dress at a really good price and I had to buy it it's the most adorable dress and it's beautiful.

The nails are not a faithful recreation of the pattern. I just loved those flowers and how the colors looked together and I just tried something similar and simplified. I can't wait to wear my new dress but it's still a bit cold, maybe with a warm cardigan.

I used quite an amount of colors, as I needed three shades of each color for each flower. They nearly didn't fit in a photograph, and they are not reallly accurate if you compare them with the dress.

Spacey Wacey

Hi guys! I'm baaaack! My nail has grown enough to level them all and paint them again. I had another break on my thumb but I don't really worry about my thumb, it doesn't look that bad.

I had been thinking for days what would my come back design would be. During the challenge ideas kept coming to my head and kept saying when I finish the 31 day challenge I'll do that and also that. As soon as I finished all those ideas disappeared so I though of one of my classics, galaxy nails. But that would have been a little too boring so I kind of did galaxy nails.

I did the solar system not just a symple galaxy. I was inspired by a design by The Nailasaurus. I thought here idea was great and that it would be fun to try and make something similar to her disign.

I did a planet on each nail and of course I included Pluto because I love Pluto and it should still be considered a planet. I know the picture of my right hand sucks and the pose is quite awkward. I promisse this year I will improve the pose of my right hand for cases like this one where I need to show both hands.

I'm quite happy about how all the planets turned out specially Jupiter and the Sun, they are my favorites. I like the choice of colours for both planets, well actually planet and star. Which one do you like best?

As always with a design with a galaxy base and other stuff painted on top I have used tons of colors. They didn't even fit in a single picture.

Most of the colors of the design I achieved by mixing different colors of polish. This design took me like two hours but I had such a great time painting my nails again. It's been like two weeks since I last did a design. I had the luck my sister let me do an accent nail on her for New Year's but that's been it since my last design.

31 Day Challenge Round Up

Hey guys! I think it's time I finally post a review on the 31 day challenge, don't you think? I have finally finished my classes until january when I'll have the rest of my finals exams so I found some time to make a little collage with all the designs for the challenge to put together all the designs.

I can really notice the evolution I have made at least with my pose and the photographs I have taken. I still have to work on the lighting on the photos because it's different in each one. However the complexity of my designs has grown and I've been able to think out of the box for some designs.

I'm actually really pleased and happy that I decided to start this challenge, I have learnt so much and I've tried new things. That's the point of all this right? I still have a long way to go but there's lots of challenges out there I can try.

Which designs is your favorite? I can't really decide because I mean I really like how my galaxies turned out but also my Starry Night recreation. LOVE THEM ALL! I hope that all of you have a wonderful weekend and happy polishing!

Grown Up Floral

Hey guys! Yes I know..... I'm alive though I just wanted to let you know by posting a quick design while I'm still preparing my round up post for the 31 day Challenge and while I finish all the university work I have.

I was inspired by a wonderful design by Candice which I recently discovered on instagram @mrcandiipants. She is an amazing artist and has wonderful ideas for nail art you should check her out. This design looked easy and cute so I went and tried to recreate it using two tones of green polishes. I am really busy guys sorry I didn't even take a decent photo of them. These are the colors I used to create this design:

I promisse, well at least I'll try, to make some more nai lart during the holidays. What I do know is that during the last two weeks of january I will have a holiday too and no exams or papers or essays to do and I will do an intensive nail art week! 31 Day Challenge – Day 31: Recreate Your Favorite Challenge (Menage A Triangle)

Hey guys! It's been a while but this week has been crazy. I have tons of work I hope when I finish my finals in January I have some time at last to do some real nail art and make more than 8 posts in a month! Let's leave my stuff and let's get to the point. Today I am happy to present the last design of the 31 day challenge!! I can't believe it, I mean it's taken me like forever but I've reached the end!

For my last design I chose to recreate the ''Inspired By A Pattern'' theme in the challenge.

For my previous ''Inspired by A Pattern'' design I did Sherlock Holmes wall paper, here. I have chosen to make something totally different. The first one was black and white this has lots of shades of blue, the other one was nature-like patter and this one is geometrical.

I used four different blues and white to create this design. These are all the colors that I used:

I am so happy to have finished the challenge. It has been a wonderful experience. I will post a round up of all the designs shortly and I will make a kind of review of the experience of my first 31 day challenge. Until then you can find all the designs here. Happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge – Day 30: Inspired By A Tutorial (Purple Nimbus)

Hey guys! I'm back with another design for the 31 day challenge, I'm so close to ending the challenge I can't believe it! Today's theme was inspired by a tutorial and I saw this awesome mani by The Nailasaurus some time ago and she posted a tutorial on how to do it. The technique is called nimbus and it looks really cool. I tried my best but they don't quite look like hers.

It really doesn't have to look this bad.... It should be more like faded. I don't know how to explain it. You should really check The Nailasaurus tutorial on Nimbus nails. Her's look awesome! Maybe mine don't look as good because I didn't use pure acetone. I'll try with that the next time I try them.

These are the colors I used. You can try different combinations. Sammy has already done pink nimbus, green and also blue nimbus and they all look amazing.

I really like the idea and I will try to perfectionate them when I buy some acetone. I still don't know what my last design for the 31 day challenge will be. The theme says to recreate my favorite challenge. What should I do? Check all the manis I have done until know here and let me know. Have a great week and happy polishing lovelies!
