Don't Even Blink! (Doctor Who)

Hey guys! For the ones who are wondering about my concert last night it was amazing!! We gave it all the the audience was great. So after all the excitement I had some time for nail art.

Yesterday I said I was having some problems following the challenge. I think I won't do day 27, plus I don't really like the theme. Instead I did some Doctor Who nails, yes more... There's some 3D glasses on the design... does that count for the challenge... ahha NOT.

On this design I represented the Tenth Doctor and my favorite episode ''Blink''. On my index The Doctor with his 3D glasses, on my middle finger his epic blue and brown suit, on my ring the wing of a weeping angel (scariest things ever!) and on my pinky a simple representation of a red converse the Doctor's shoes. On my thumb I wanted to write ''Don't Blink'' but it didn't fit so instead I wrote ''Bad Wolf''.

What do you think? If you liked this design check my other Doctor Who inspired nails here. I used quite a lot of colors for this design:

Are you fed up of my fangirl nails? I hope not because you know fangirling is like my job! Don't forget to share this design with your friends and comment if you have any questions. Are you fellow whovians? Tell me about it. If you don't follow the show you shoud, I mean for real it's the best!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Singfònics!

Hey guys! I think most of you don't know that I'm into music, a lot. I sing in a vocal grup called Singfònics and today we have a concert in my city.  I would invite you all to come but well I think it's a bit far away for you all.

I did a special design for the concert and I've totally forgoten to do the day 27 challenge for the nail art june. I think I'll have to mash up day 27 and day 30, I don't really know how but I'll think something. Any idea on how to mix sunglasses and sea foam.. LOL

I did a light gradient that well didn't turn out that well... and an accent nail with our logo. Check out our web to listen to some of our stuff. Thsese are the colors I used for this design. I used the greens that represent us, we always dress in black and green!

I hope that you enjoy our videos, if you watch them... Well lovelies happy polishing and wish me luck tonight!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 24: Simple (When The Lightning Strikes)

Hey guys! Today's design is a new one for nail art June challenge. Today I've started my new job, I take care of kids in the afternoon so I'll have to start diong my nails in the mornings.

Today's theme was ''simple'' so I just did bolt shapes over the best orange ever! They were quick and easy. I really like how this color looks with black!

At first I wanted to do like a Bowie related mani, because I wanted to add some colors to the bolts but that would end up being quite complex. At the end I just did the bolts with black over this amazing orange. This polish is ''Flashy Pumpkin'' by Essence, and well the name says it all right?

I hope you liked this simple mani, you can really try this one out it's simple and easy to do. But you need a thin brush or striper to do this, you can also check some other DIY in my tutorials page. Feel free to ask me anything. Happy polishing and have a lovely week!

Baby You're A Firework!

Hello lovelies! Tonight in Catalunya we celebrate Sant Joan (Saint John), we celebrate the shortest night of the year. We normally gather up at night with friends and family and there's fireworks. I decided to do a simple design using fireworks as a theme to celebrate Sant Joan.

This was a really quick design but I wanted to do something for today. I will be celebrating Sant Joan with my friends and I have to get ready. These are the colors I used for this design, quite a lot:

Did you know about this celebration? Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Happy polishing

Spiral Design Tutorial

It's been a while since I posted my last tutorial and now that I think about it I still have a few that I need to post here, I just never remember. Today you saw my spiral designand some of you liked it so I thought it would be cool to make a quick tutorial on how to do it. It's really easy and you can try so many different colors and variations. Let's get the show started!

1. Paint your nails with any color you want, I would use the lighter color for the base and the darker for the spiral design.

2. Make a dot in the middle of the nail. This dot will guide us when we start making the triangle forms for the spiral.

3. From the dot we created earlier draw a curved line from the center to the tip.

4. Like before, using the dot as a reference, we make another curved line creating a trianglish form.

5. Fill the triangle.

6. Create another triangle leaving more or less the same space betweet triangles

7. Repeat the process until you achieve a full spiral covering the entire nail

8. Add a top coat and it's finished! You now have a hypnotizing spiral on your nails.

The color I used for this design is my favorite pink: Velvet Rose by Astor

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and you try this yourselves. Don't forget to comment, tag me on instagram and twitter #thenailartshow so I can see your designs. Share with your friends and happy polishing guys!

Holo Spirals

Hey guys, I had some time left yesterday after going out to buy me a new bikini, yay at last, and I decided to do a quick design using black polish and silver holo!

I really like how the holographic polish looks with black and the spiral forms were fun to paint. And they were quite easy to do, they look like a goth candy cane.

As a base I used my KIKO holographic polish, this one and a blue holo also from KIKO are the only holos I own but I really like them. They look so cool in the sun.

Do you own any holo polishes? What do you think about them? I think they are so cool, I know they are a trend but I think they won't be left behind I mean crackled or however you spell that, polish was terrible I really hate that one but holo is amazing! Happy polishing lovelies!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 21: Flip Flops

Hey guys! Today's post is a new mani for nail art June challenge. The theme for this day was ''flip flops'' what kind of theme is this? I was a bit confused at first, I had no idea of what to do. At the end I just did this simple design.

At fist I wanted to do the typical floral design that you normally find on flip flops but it was a fail so I decided to do little flip flops walking on my nails. They are simple not really complex but I think I did fine. I think the colors I used are so summerish and I really like them. These are the colors I used:

I hope you liked this design, don't forget to check my other entries for this challenge here. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 18: Sparkles (Rainbow hex glitter)

Hey lovelies! Today's mani is another design for nail art June. I bought this pack of hexagon glitter ages ago at Banggood which you can buy here. I've been wanting to use them but I never find the time to actually sit and make a full glitter mani design. As today's theme for the June nail art challenge was ''sparkles'' I decided it would be a perfect excuse to try them out.

Yesterday I painted my nails black ( Black to the Roots - Catrice) because firstly I was going to do a galaxy for today's theme, but then I remembered ''Hey! Glitter!!!!!''. So over my black base color I placed on each nail a different color of hexagon glitter. I applied them with a small dotting tool and yes on both of my hands - my left hand doesn't look this well but it's acceptable.

I really like how they turned out and it was my firts time doing this, I mean I had never put lose glitter one by one covering my whole nails and I didn't fail!!! What do you think? I'm really pleased, I just hope the glitter doesn't fall out and they last at least a day.

These are the different glitters I used for this design, as I said you can find them at Banggood and they aren't expensive at all.

I can't stop looking at my nails! Shine bright like hexagon glitter! Well guys if you liked this design don't forget to share with your friends and follow me on facebook, twitter, tumblr and instagram. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 16: Match OOTD

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted my last mani but I've been to the beach this weekend and I wanted to keep my mermaid nails for the ocasion. Now I'm back and I have a new mani for June nail art challenge. Today's design had to match OOTD but it didn't say it had to match MY OOTD. As I'm on holiday I really don't get dressed in the morning so instead I got inspired by my sister's outfit today.

She was wearing this tribal kind of T-shirt and I thought it was perfect for a nail design. So I guess today's theme would be MSOOTD (My Sister's Outfit Of The Day).

I tried to recreate the design as best as I could. It was quite difficult because of the parallel lines but I think I was succesfull. Here's a close up of the pattern:

What do  you think of this design? These are the colors I used, to make the light blue I mixed two colors - blue and white- to try and get the exact tone of blue.

I hoped you enjoyed this design. I will upload a tutorial later today or tomorrow, yes probably tomorrow I have so many things to do this afternoon. Have a great Monday loves. Don't forget to like and share with your friends. Happy polishing!

Best Blogger Award

I’m really happy to say I’ve been nominated by My Adventures in Nail Art for Best Blogger Award. I’m really excited about this because it’s my first award in the time I’ve been blogging, so yes for me it’s a big deal.

Pink Galaxy Earrings

Hey guys! Well as fellow nail addicts you know that feeling '' I want to paint my nails but I just painted my nails''. I was feeling like that yesterday and as I wanted to keep my mermaid nails a little bit more I decided to do these earrings. They were just a pair of purple earrings that I didn't use so I painted them with black polish and did this simple pink galaxy design. What do you thinkg?

I still don't know what I will do with them. I hardly ever change my earrings but I think these would look very cute. Or maybe I should keep them as a present for someone. I know this isn't realated with my nails but I just wanted to show you all these little babies. If you want you can do them yourselves using my galaxy tutorial. You just need a pair of earrings and just be creative! Have a nice day lovelies.

Turquoise Stone Effect Tutorial (Saran Wrap)

Hi again! I've had some requests on my instagram on how I did my turquoise stone effect nails. It's pretty easy so I decided to make a quick tutorial so you can do them yourselves.

Things you will need:
-  Saran Wrap or any kind of plastic wraping paper
-  Nail polish
-  Thin brush or a toothpick

1. Paint your nails with a turquoise blue and wait until it's totally dry.

2. Get the saran wrap and cut it into little pieces. Scrunch it and apply some polish on it. Not much you can tap it on a piece of paper to remove the excess polish. Dab it onto your nail just a little bit.

3. Using a thin brush or a toothpick and some gold polish create little spots they don't have to be perfect they have to look like stains on a stone.

4. Add a top coat and taadaa! You are done, you have turquoise effect nail design.

I hope this tutorial is useful and you try this yourselves. Don't forget to tweet me or tag me on instagram if you try them. I would love to see your versions of this cute design. If  you have any questions comment or email me at thenailartshow@gmai.com. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 13: Sea Critters (Mermaid)

Hey lovelies! New mani for nail art june challenge today. The theme for today's design is ''sea critters''. I didn't want to do the tipical fish or seahorses or such things because I already did fishes for the ocean themed design, so I decided to make a mermaid.

This design consists on a really light gradient, yes me doing a gradient and not failing at it!!!! and the silhouette of a mermaid and I also added a little bit of glitter.  You are probably asking yourself ''Oh that gradient doesn't suck like all the other gradients she does, or tries to do''. The answer is I actually used another technique to create this gradient.

I painted all my nails blue and then on a paper painted two lines of polish with the colors I wanted to use: light blue and a darker blue. With a thick brusk just go over the polish, this is what you would do for one stroke flowers, then I just painted my nail horizontally and created this light gradient I actually really like.

These are the colors I used for this mani:

We are nearly half-way of this challenge, and I'm loving it. Check the other designs I did for this challenge here. What do you think of this design and this way of creating gradients. For people like me who aren't really a friend of sponging I think it's quite a good idea. Don't forget to share and like. Comment if you have any questions or just to speak out your opinion. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 10: Saran Wrap (Turquoise Stone Effect)

Hey guys! Today's theme for the June Nail Art Challenge was saran wrap. I had never done this technique before, but hey this is what challenges are for right? Trying new things, new designs, lots of inspiration...

Lately I've been seeing around lots of designs that use water spotting techniques to recreate this stone effect look. As you know I'm terrible with water and polish, just look at my last watermarble, but I really liked the idea. I thought I could achieve a similar effect with saran wrap. And I think I did.
I really like how they turned out. I seems I have left my nail fails behind. What do you think? I think it's an alternative to using water for the stone effect. Okay it doesn't look that realistic but if I use water I would probably make a bigger mess than I could ever make with saran wrap method. They actually look better in person.

I hoped you liked this new design for the June nail art challenge. Share this with your friends if you like it and comment if you have any questions. Happy polishing!

Sunflowers

Hey guys! I don't know what's happening to me, three nail fails in two afternoons... Now I have all the time of the world I'm on holiday, bye exams and bye uni so I can do all the nail art I want but the three designs I've tried lately have been a big fail.

Today I tried sunflowers for the first time. Flowers and I are good friends I mean I think I'm quite good and flowered designs. The idea I had in mind was simple sunflowers over a blue aquamarine background. Easy peasy right? Well NO! I did two failed attempts until I came out with this... It's decent but stil I don't really like it.

I really hate them LOL! What's wrong I mean now I have time to do my nails I can't do them right. Plus I am strugling to find ideas and designs to do. Thank god for the challenge wich makes it easier for me hahah.

These are the colors I used for the design. I really love my base color for this design, it's beautiful!

Well girls could you give me ideas for future designs? What things shall I do? My brain is on holiday!! Well I hope you don't hate this design. Like it and share it or maybe not haha. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 8: Ocean

Hey guys. I know it's been a while since I posted my last design, i was just sooo in love with my Lord of The Rings nails I didn't want to take them off. But hey life goes on and I had to do my new Nail Art June Challenge design inspired by ocean.

Let me say that I wasn't really happy about these but they look better on camera so I just took the photo and saw that they actually looked pretty good and decided I wasn't gonna take them off and start again. As you see my gradient is a mess as always...

Gradients are usually what people start with when getting into nail art but I don't seem to get them right. I am pretty good at sponging well at least when it comes to galaxies but gradients... well not my kind of stuff.

The themes of this challenge are really cool, well next one is Saran Wrap and I have to say I have never tried it so let's se what comes out. You will have to wait to know if I failed.

These are the colors I used for this ocean inspired mani:

Hope you liked it guys. Don't forget to share, like and comment if you have any questions about the challenge, this design or any random doubt. Have a lovely day and happy polishing!

Deadly Sins Challenge – Day 14: Pride (The Lord Of The Rings)

Hey guys, I regret to tell this is the last Sin of the Deadly Sins Challenge. It's been an amazing experience, I have done lots of designs and I think some of them have made me improve my skills. The girls who have taken part are the sweetest and most talented and it's been a plesure to be part of it.

The theme for today's mani was ''This is YOUR time! Brag about how good you are at...''. I diceded that as I suck at things like watermarble, gradients, and other techiniques, my best skill is nail art. I think I'm quite good with brushes and this stuff. It was also a perfect excuse to show my nerd pride! I'm a bit of a Lord Of The Rings freak! I really love the films, I haven't read the book, but it's on my list of things to do before I die.

What do you think of my Sauron's Eye? I think it looks quite good. It really looks like it's watching you. They were quite quick to do. I think one of the designs I've done in less time and that it actually looks as good on my right hand. Here's a close up of the eye.

I think the elecion of colors was perfect. The reds and oranges I chose are really similar to the original eye in the film. These are the colors I used:

What do you think of this mani? Can I say I absolutely love them? Of course I can it's my PRIDE mani!! I LOVE MY NAAAAILS! Well if you like them as much as I do share them with your friends, and ask me anything commenting below. Happy polishing!

Flowered design Tutorial

Hey guys, so as promissed yesterday here's the tutorial on my Flowered design for June Nail Art Challenge. I would say anyone can do this design, there's no special tools you need and you don't need to have steady hands.

This design can be done with different colors and if you want you could start the flowers from the tip and make a french flowered manicure. The possibilities with this kind of design are infinite. Let's get the show started!

1. Start applying your favorite basecoat to protect your natural nails. Paint your nails a pastel yellow.
2. Get a brush, no need for it to be really thin, and make random flowerish shapes with the first color you want for your design, I chose Yellow Sub-Mandarin by Catrice. They don' have to be perfect, hell they don't even have to look like flowers.
3-4-5-6. Using the same technique make random flowers on your nail and leave a black space on your tip. The flowers should be quite close together.
7. Get some black polish and make the centres of the flowers, don't use a dotting dool because it would look to perfect.
8. Top coat your design and it's ready!

It wasn't that difficult right? Let me see your versions of this design. Try it yourselves and post your pictures on instagram and tag #thenailartshow for me to see them. You can also have a chance ov being promoted on Firdays.

Don't fogert to like, share and comment if you have any questions about the tutorial. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge - Day 4: Flowers

It's time for a new mani for June challenge. The theme for today's design was flowers and I've wanted to recreate this design by Wondrously Polished. i feel the need to say Lindsey is one of my favorite nail artists if not my favorite ever! She did this design for February challenge.

This is how they turned out and I'm really pleased with them. I tried to use a similar palette of colours as Wondrously Polished because she got inspired by an art work you can find here. They are amazing you should check them out!

They are easy to do I will upload a tutorial on them probably tomorrow so you can make your own versions with different colors. Also don't you think it's a perfect design for summer? Even if it isnt's summer yet it will soon be and I really can't wait.

These are the colors I used for this flowered design. I think they really look well together, don't you?

I hope you like this design, it was really quick to do actually so don't hesitate to try them after I upload my tutorial tomorrow. Keep tuned. Don't forget to like, share and comment if you have any questions or suggestions.

Deadly Sins Challenge – Day 11: Envy (Green for Envy)

Hello guys! Well I've been a bit behing with my Deadly Sins Challenge but here you have my entry for day 11. The theme for todays design was recreating another many of the ladies who are taking part, I chose a Paper Thin Nails design. She has amazing designs and you should check her blog if you haven't yet!

As a base color I used Genious in a Bottle by Catrice. I have hardly use this color and I don't know why because it looks amazing. Here are two pictures of a swatch of this color, one indoors and the other with sunlight:

I used different greens to recreate the design. Mine is slightly different from hers but I think it looks really nice. I quite like how they turned out. What do you thinkg?

These are the colors I used for this design. I used my favorite greens. I know you see them alot on my designs but i think they are lovely and the best greens for envy nails.

I hope you liked this recreation of Paper Thin Nails' design. Don't forget to like, share and comment if you have any questions or suggestions. Happy polishing!
