31 Day Challenge - Day 1: Red Nails (Ruffian Manicure)

Hey guys! I haven't been really inspired this days so I thought it was a great moment to start a challenge. I've been wanting to do the 30DC2013 for ages and now that it's summer and I have time I'm giving it a try. I will probably post manis for the challenge whenever I feel to, or when I need some inspiration.

Todays theme, day 1, was red nails and I tried doing a ruffian manicure. It's my first try so don't be hard on me guys! I'm not really happy with how they turned out but it's not bad to be the first time I do it.

I used this two colors, a fantastic dark red from Essence and a wonderful golden from Techinic. They both look cool together right?

I'm really excited with this challenge. I can't wait to reach the end of the challenge with all those cool themes! Have you ever tried this ruffian techinique? Any tips? I will be happy if you shared with me. I'm really excited with the challenge!! Happy polishing!

Waterfall Tutorial

Hey guys, I've put together a quick pictorial on how to do waterfall nails. It's a really fun design with infinite color possibilities!

The things you need are just one nail polish for the base color and 4-6 different nail polishes for the lines. You will also need a 10mm-ish long and thin nail art brush.

You just need to paint your nail with the base color of your choice and then starting with the darker color create some lines of different length. Continue doing this with the other colors and just add a top coat. See easy peasy! Check here to see the list of colors I used for this mani.

I really liked the idea of this design so I picked up my nail wheel and started trying different color combinations:

I really had nothing better to do and I went a little crazy but I think all the different colors look awesome with this design. Don't you? What's your favorite combination?

Here are all the color I used for each design:

Green Waterfall:

Purple Waterfall:

Pink Waterfall:

Yellow Waterfall:

Metallic Waterfall:

Red Waterfall:

Have I convinced you of the awesomeness of this waterfall design? Try this yourself and let me know what you think, I bet you will recieve tons of compliments on your nails and it won't take you long to do, not even a lot of effort to get kick ass nails. Show me your nails on twitter or instagram tag me #thenailartshow. Happy polihing lovelies!

Rainbow Tie Dye

Hey guys! I know I'm not posting as much as I should but that will change. I'm totally on holiday now as I've finished my afternoons job.

I am leaving on a trip to a house in the mountains with my friends of the choir I'm in so I did a quick mani before leaving. I chose to do a tie dye design, I had already done one before and I really liked it and today I used similar colors but it turned out better than the first time.

What do you think about the color combination better than my last tie dye mani? I really like how all the colors just pop out ant look so summerish! I really enjoy doing this tie dye technique.

These are the colors I used featuring my new awesome yellow polish I bought the other day:

Have a nice weekend and I hope you liked this design. Happy polishing!

Waterfalls

Hey guys! You think that without classes and being on holiday you would have more time for nail art but actually I'm so busy I don't even have time to paint my nails! Today I found a bit of time to do this simple design inspired by The Nailasaurus.

This design looks really cute and it's quick and easy to do. The colors are really summerish like the bottom of a swimming pool don't you think. These are the colors I used, starting with the base color and then the colors I used for the lines:

The Nailsaurus, Sammy, has tons of waterfall nail designs on her blog with different colors and amazing combinations, go check them. I will probably upload a quick tutorial on how to do this simple design. I hope you liked my waterfall mani. Happy polishg!

Pixie Dust

Hi guys! The other day I went shopping to Barcelona and I went into KIKO and found out some polishes were on sale. I saw the Sugar Matte collection and I thought they were awesome. I had seen the pixie dust collection by O.P.I around the internet but nothing where I live so I bought the black polish and gave this cool effect a try.

It's like a glitter polish but the glitter is really small and you feel the texture of it so it's also like a textured polish, which by the way I don't own none. The polish is matte and it's strage because I never wear matte nails. I should buy a matte top coat because I really like the effect that it gives to some designs.

I only used one coat of the polish and it was enough, let's see how it behaves for removal. I guess I'll have to get some foil and cotton pads to remove it. The polish I used is this KIKO one from Sugat Matt collection:

Have you tried any of these polishes or similar effects? What do you think? This was kind of a review on this polish did you like it? Would you like seeing more thins like this in the future? Let me know on the comments below. Happy polishing!

Despicable Me 2

Hey guys! This afternoon I'll be going to the cinema with my family to watch Despicable Me 2. I'm a grown up 19 year old woman but who cares I still loved the first one so I must see the second one! I mean who doesn't love those little minion creatures right? They are so fluffy I'm gonna die!

I had to match my nails with the occasion so I did a quick minion manicure to go and watch the film and I really love how they turned out. Last yera I did a minion manicure too when I watched the first film and I can see I have improved a lot since then. If you want to see the mani I'm talking about just check it here.

I think they turned out pretty good, I really like my middle finger with the minion just popping out! What do you think? Are you also a minion fan?
On my thumbs I wanted to write Despicable Me but that was too long for my short nails so I just wrote 'Gru' and '2' on my other thumb with orange polish.

These are the colors I used for this design:

Well guys this is all for today, gotta leave and get ready to go to the cinema! Happy polishing!

Purple Universe

Hey guys! After two days, I repeat TWO DAYS, of naked nails - I know right unbelievable-  I finally went and did some galaxy nails. Galaxy nails are what I call emergency state nails. Whenever I don't know what to do or I just need to paint my nails because they've been naked for too long I just go with galaxies. I'm quite proud of my sponging skills and the colors I use for galaxies so I decided to do a purple one.

They look awesome in daylight because of all the shimmer and glitter which you can't really see in the photo. I actually mixed my grey KIKO holo with a purple KIKO polish which shows only with daylight and looks really cool and galaxy-ish. I didn't use as many colors as I normally do for galaxies, these are all the ones I used:

Do you love galaxy nails as much as I do? Want to make them yourself? Check my galaxy tutorial and my other galaxy designs here. I hope you enjoyed this mani and you give galaxy nails a try following my tutorial. If you have any questions just email me at thenailartshow@gmail.com or just comment below. Happy polishing!

Play Me!

Hey guys, I've been wanting to try out a mani inspired by vinyl records and I finally did it. I think I didn't quite get the effect I wanted and they are really simple I didn't even try to name the records or anything because I was afraid I would mess them up. What do you think?

I really don't like them that much but I think they diserved to be on here I took them off as soon as I took this photo. But they were fun making so who cares that's what matters.

These are the colors I used for this design:

I hope you enjoyed this design don't forget to like on me facebook page and follow me on isntagram. Happy polishing!

I'm Castiel an angel of the Lord

Hey guys! For those of you wondering I had a wonderful bithday, thanks for your bithday wishes on instagram, blogger and wordpress, I really appreciate them.

Today's mani is dedicated to Supernatural. I started watching the show some weeks ago and I'm already on season 5! Do any of you watch it o have watched it? I really like it and I've recently discovered my love for Castiel played by Misha Collins and I got the inspiration for this mani from him and the episode ''Lucifer Rising'' the finale from season 04.

The design is inspired by Castiel's outfit with the wings included of course and then on my pinky and on my thumb a bloody handprint and the symbol he made on the episode.

This is the moment he draws the symbol on the wall with his blood:

These are the colors I used for this design:

I'm really happy with this mani, I hope you all like it too! Are you Supernatural fans? What do you think of my tribute to Castiel? Don't forget to share and like on my facebook page and instagram. Happy polishing!

I just did a quick design but I think it looks really cute! I still haven't planned anything to do for my birthday but I hope I have a good time with my family and friends.

These are the colors I used for this nail design:
