31 Day Challenge – Day 19: Galaxy (You Can Paint With All The Colors Of The Universe)

Hey guys! It's time for another mani for the 31 day challenge. It has finally arrived, galaxy themed nails! As you may all know galaxies are one of my favorite things to do. Do you remember when I went crazy and did all those galaxies on a nail wheel? I couldn't wait for galaxy day and here you have five different galaxies, each one on a different finger. Enjoy!

I was feeling inspired today and I really wanted to enjoy myself with this design so I did five different color combinations on each finger. And it's strange that actually my favorite combination was the one I did on my thumb, wich I don't really show because I got it caught in a door as a kid and it's a bit strange, but here you are:

I think I had never used so mani colors for a design, I mean it's like 4-6 colors for each nail. I took photos off all the color combinations so you can see which ones I used in case you like them so much you also want to do a galaxy design with the same colors. Here are all the colors I used for each nail:

Thumb

Index

Middle

Ring

Pinky

When I finished the design my desk was a mess with so many bottles, I also used a black base polish 'Black on Black' by Sinful Colors and the silver glitter is 'Helo Holo' by Essence.

Which finger do you like the most? They were so fun to do I really recommend trying a galaxy design this week. I have a tutorial here if you want to check it out and also other galaxy manis here. I hope you liked this design and happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge – Day 18: Half Moons (Blow Them Away)

Hey guys! Now I've started university again I can't do my nails so often but here I am with a new mani for the 31 day challenge. The theme was half moons something I had never done before but this idea came to my mind, what do you think? Half moons with an explosive twist!

They were fun and easy to do, they actually don't need very skillful hands. What I liked the most of this mani was doind the sparkle at the end of the bombs it reminded me of when I did my Lord Of The Rings nails, one of my favorite designs if not the my absolute favorite. These are the colors I used for this design:

I hope you enjoyed this design and you found them as fun as me. What do you think about the half moon technique? I would love to know if you have tried it and what designs you have tried. Happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge – Day 17: Glitter (Fairy Tale Nails)

Hey guys! It's time for a new mani for the 31 day challenge. Today's theme was glitter and I decided to use my favorite glitter polishes and make a fairy inspired mani. What's more sparkly than a fairy?

What do you think? I bit too girly for me but they were fun to make, even if they will be a pain to remove! These are the colors I used with the three different glitters I chose for this mani

Soon I'll finish the second phase of the challenge and I can't wait to start with the next one! This is being so much fun! I hope you liked this design and happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge – Day 16: Tribal Print (My First Tribal)

Hey guys! On Monday I officially started university again and well It was hard to find some time to do nails with all the things I had to do this weekend. I'm passed te equator of the challenge and I'm having a great time. Today I gladly present my first ever tribal print inspired by the wonderful artist Chalckboard Nails (Sarah).

I'm not that good at straight lines and parallel lines as you already know but well to be my first try they aren't that bad, not as neat's as Sarah's but still ok for me.

These are the colors I used for this design:

I hope you enjoyed this mani and you are looking forward to my next tutorial on lace nails. See you soon and happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge – Day 15: Delicate Print (Lace It Up)

Hey guys! Just so you know, if anyone's interested the human chain was a total success and it was great taking part and everyone loved my design. Today I'm returning to my 31 day challenge manis with a delicate print themed mani. I really didn't know what someone considered delicate but I went and did a little bit of lace. Let's see what you think.

Would lace be considered delicate? At first I wanted to do white lace wich would look like more delicate, but then I realized I have to buy new white polish because I had run out of it so I did black lace wich I think looks quite well. Delicate and sexy I think right?

These nails weren't easy but at the end I was really happy of how they turned out. What do you think? Would you like to see a tutorian on these nails? I hope you do because I'm planning on posting it soon.

This is my last weekend on holiday as on monday I start university again so I must enjoy everysecond. Have a wonderful weekend and happy polishing!

Catalunya Next European State

Hey guys! Surprise today's design is not part of the 31 day Challenge. Today's mani is dedicated to Catalunya, today is September 11th, our national day. As many of you know if you have read my About Me page I am catalan and our country is fighting for our right to decide if we want to be an independent state. These nails represent the flag that asks for independence.

Today is a really emotional and special day for all of us, a human chain will follow the length of the whole country (400km) so the world knows about our situation. You can find more information if you are interested here.

These are the colors I used for this design, including this new amazing blue polish by a new brand I had never used before:

I hope you enjoyed this little piece of history, and if you want to know more about today just ask me and I will do my best to try and make this situation understandable for you all. I hope you all have a great day and bona diada a tots els catalans i catalanes!

31 Day Challenge – Day 14: Flowers (Red Poppies)

Hey guys! It's time for another mani for the 31 day Challenge. Today's theme was flowers and I just went simple and made some poppies. At first I wanted to do an abstract design with black flowers but they didn't turn out as I wanted so I went with my second idea and this is how they turned out.

What do you think? They aren't really complex but I think they look cute. I'm not that good at flower manis as Lindsey from Wondrously Polished but these are just ok.

These are the colors I used to create this poppy design:

I'm already thinking about all the designs I have to do. I'm having so much fun with this challenge. I've seen so many other bloggers starting it and I'm telling you, you will have so much fun! I'm looking forward to seeing all your designs. Happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge – Day 13: Animal Print (Kiss The Frog)

Hey guys! It's been a while since the last mani for the 31 day challenge but I hope that in the meantime you enjoyed my last tutorial. The theme for today's design was animal print. I have to confess I had never done an animal print before, I mean I really don't like the typical animal print nails so I went with something different.

I got my inspiration from this colorful little frog. I felt in love with this little guy instantly while searching for something I could recreate on my nails, which wasn't the typical zebra or cheetah print. The colors were greate and those little black spots were adorable and I could really translate it to my nails.

The colors I used aren't really accurate but i think they look great even if they aren't exaclty the same as the frog. These are the two colors I used for the gradient:

What do you think? Is this frog good enough to be considered animal print? I hope it does because I love how they turned out. Let me know what you think on the comments and happy polishing!

Palm Trees At Sunset Tutorial

Hello lovelies! As promissed here's the tutorial for my palm trees over gradient design. It's been a while since I haven't done a tutorial and I wanted to ask if there's any particular design you would like to see a tutorial of. Just let me know commenting on this post or get in touch with me on twitter, instagram or my email: thenailartshow@gmail.com. That's enouhg of me talking let's get this show started.

Things you will need for this design:
  • White polish for the base
  • 2-3 polish colors for the gradient
  • Make up sponge
  • Thin nail art brush or similar
  • Black polish for the palm tree
  • Matte top coat (optional)
1. Paint your nails with your favorite base coat and then paint one coat of white nail polish.
2. On the make up sponge paint the two or three colors you want to use for the gradient and tap the sponge on your nail. Repeat as many times as you need until you are happy with how it looks.
3. Add a top coat to the gradient to merge the colors together and let it dry.
4. When it's dry get your brush or striper and draw a curved line. This will be the trunk of the palm tree.
5. At the end of this curved line make the leaves of the palm tree. They have to be curved and irregular.
6. From the lines you made earlier make litte strokes so they look like the little leaves on the palmtree. They don't need to look perfect.
7. On the tip of your nail draw an irregular line and fill the tip, this will be the floor where the palm tree is standing
8. Add a regular shiny top coat or a matte top coat.

These are the colors I used for my design:

I hope you guys try this out and you show me your designs on twitter and instagram, just tag #thenailartshow so I can see your work. Happy polishing!
