June Nail Art Challenge – Day 24: Simple (When The Lightning Strikes)

Hey guys! Today's design is a new one for nail art June challenge. Today I've started my new job, I take care of kids in the afternoon so I'll have to start diong my nails in the mornings.

Today's theme was ''simple'' so I just did bolt shapes over the best orange ever! They were quick and easy. I really like how this color looks with black!

At first I wanted to do like a Bowie related mani, because I wanted to add some colors to the bolts but that would end up being quite complex. At the end I just did the bolts with black over this amazing orange. This polish is ''Flashy Pumpkin'' by Essence, and well the name says it all right?

I hope you liked this simple mani, you can really try this one out it's simple and easy to do. But you need a thin brush or striper to do this, you can also check some other DIY in my tutorials page. Feel free to ask me anything. Happy polishing and have a lovely week!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 21: Flip Flops

Hey guys! Today's post is a new mani for nail art June challenge. The theme for this day was ''flip flops'' what kind of theme is this? I was a bit confused at first, I had no idea of what to do. At the end I just did this simple design.

At fist I wanted to do the typical floral design that you normally find on flip flops but it was a fail so I decided to do little flip flops walking on my nails. They are simple not really complex but I think I did fine. I think the colors I used are so summerish and I really like them. These are the colors I used:

I hope you liked this design, don't forget to check my other entries for this challenge here. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 18: Sparkles (Rainbow hex glitter)

Hey lovelies! Today's mani is another design for nail art June. I bought this pack of hexagon glitter ages ago at Banggood which you can buy here. I've been wanting to use them but I never find the time to actually sit and make a full glitter mani design. As today's theme for the June nail art challenge was ''sparkles'' I decided it would be a perfect excuse to try them out.

Yesterday I painted my nails black ( Black to the Roots - Catrice) because firstly I was going to do a galaxy for today's theme, but then I remembered ''Hey! Glitter!!!!!''. So over my black base color I placed on each nail a different color of hexagon glitter. I applied them with a small dotting tool and yes on both of my hands - my left hand doesn't look this well but it's acceptable.

I really like how they turned out and it was my firts time doing this, I mean I had never put lose glitter one by one covering my whole nails and I didn't fail!!! What do you think? I'm really pleased, I just hope the glitter doesn't fall out and they last at least a day.

These are the different glitters I used for this design, as I said you can find them at Banggood and they aren't expensive at all.

I can't stop looking at my nails! Shine bright like hexagon glitter! Well guys if you liked this design don't forget to share with your friends and follow me on facebook, twitter, tumblr and instagram. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 16: Match OOTD

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted my last mani but I've been to the beach this weekend and I wanted to keep my mermaid nails for the ocasion. Now I'm back and I have a new mani for June nail art challenge. Today's design had to match OOTD but it didn't say it had to match MY OOTD. As I'm on holiday I really don't get dressed in the morning so instead I got inspired by my sister's outfit today.

She was wearing this tribal kind of T-shirt and I thought it was perfect for a nail design. So I guess today's theme would be MSOOTD (My Sister's Outfit Of The Day).

I tried to recreate the design as best as I could. It was quite difficult because of the parallel lines but I think I was succesfull. Here's a close up of the pattern:

What do  you think of this design? These are the colors I used, to make the light blue I mixed two colors - blue and white- to try and get the exact tone of blue.

I hoped you enjoyed this design. I will upload a tutorial later today or tomorrow, yes probably tomorrow I have so many things to do this afternoon. Have a great Monday loves. Don't forget to like and share with your friends. Happy polishing!

Turquoise Stone Effect Tutorial (Saran Wrap)

Hi again! I've had some requests on my instagram on how I did my turquoise stone effect nails. It's pretty easy so I decided to make a quick tutorial so you can do them yourselves.

Things you will need:
-  Saran Wrap or any kind of plastic wraping paper
-  Nail polish
-  Thin brush or a toothpick

1. Paint your nails with a turquoise blue and wait until it's totally dry.

2. Get the saran wrap and cut it into little pieces. Scrunch it and apply some polish on it. Not much you can tap it on a piece of paper to remove the excess polish. Dab it onto your nail just a little bit.

3. Using a thin brush or a toothpick and some gold polish create little spots they don't have to be perfect they have to look like stains on a stone.

4. Add a top coat and taadaa! You are done, you have turquoise effect nail design.

I hope this tutorial is useful and you try this yourselves. Don't forget to tweet me or tag me on instagram if you try them. I would love to see your versions of this cute design. If  you have any questions comment or email me at thenailartshow@gmai.com. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 13: Sea Critters (Mermaid)

Hey lovelies! New mani for nail art june challenge today. The theme for today's design is ''sea critters''. I didn't want to do the tipical fish or seahorses or such things because I already did fishes for the ocean themed design, so I decided to make a mermaid.

This design consists on a really light gradient, yes me doing a gradient and not failing at it!!!! and the silhouette of a mermaid and I also added a little bit of glitter.  You are probably asking yourself ''Oh that gradient doesn't suck like all the other gradients she does, or tries to do''. The answer is I actually used another technique to create this gradient.

I painted all my nails blue and then on a paper painted two lines of polish with the colors I wanted to use: light blue and a darker blue. With a thick brusk just go over the polish, this is what you would do for one stroke flowers, then I just painted my nail horizontally and created this light gradient I actually really like.

These are the colors I used for this mani:

We are nearly half-way of this challenge, and I'm loving it. Check the other designs I did for this challenge here. What do you think of this design and this way of creating gradients. For people like me who aren't really a friend of sponging I think it's quite a good idea. Don't forget to share and like. Comment if you have any questions or just to speak out your opinion. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 10: Saran Wrap (Turquoise Stone Effect)

Hey guys! Today's theme for the June Nail Art Challenge was saran wrap. I had never done this technique before, but hey this is what challenges are for right? Trying new things, new designs, lots of inspiration...

Lately I've been seeing around lots of designs that use water spotting techniques to recreate this stone effect look. As you know I'm terrible with water and polish, just look at my last watermarble, but I really liked the idea. I thought I could achieve a similar effect with saran wrap. And I think I did.
I really like how they turned out. I seems I have left my nail fails behind. What do you think? I think it's an alternative to using water for the stone effect. Okay it doesn't look that realistic but if I use water I would probably make a bigger mess than I could ever make with saran wrap method. They actually look better in person.

I hoped you liked this new design for the June nail art challenge. Share this with your friends if you like it and comment if you have any questions. Happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge – Day 8: Ocean

Hey guys. I know it's been a while since I posted my last design, i was just sooo in love with my Lord of The Rings nails I didn't want to take them off. But hey life goes on and I had to do my new Nail Art June Challenge design inspired by ocean.

Let me say that I wasn't really happy about these but they look better on camera so I just took the photo and saw that they actually looked pretty good and decided I wasn't gonna take them off and start again. As you see my gradient is a mess as always...

Gradients are usually what people start with when getting into nail art but I don't seem to get them right. I am pretty good at sponging well at least when it comes to galaxies but gradients... well not my kind of stuff.

The themes of this challenge are really cool, well next one is Saran Wrap and I have to say I have never tried it so let's se what comes out. You will have to wait to know if I failed.

These are the colors I used for this ocean inspired mani:

Hope you liked it guys. Don't forget to share, like and comment if you have any questions about the challenge, this design or any random doubt. Have a lovely day and happy polishing!

June Nail Art Challenge - Day 4: Flowers

It's time for a new mani for June challenge. The theme for today's design was flowers and I've wanted to recreate this design by Wondrously Polished. i feel the need to say Lindsey is one of my favorite nail artists if not my favorite ever! She did this design for February challenge.

This is how they turned out and I'm really pleased with them. I tried to use a similar palette of colours as Wondrously Polished because she got inspired by an art work you can find here. They are amazing you should check them out!

They are easy to do I will upload a tutorial on them probably tomorrow so you can make your own versions with different colors. Also don't you think it's a perfect design for summer? Even if it isnt's summer yet it will soon be and I really can't wait.

These are the colors I used for this flowered design. I think they really look well together, don't you?

I hope you like this design, it was really quick to do actually so don't hesitate to try them after I upload my tutorial tomorrow. Keep tuned. Don't forget to like, share and comment if you have any questions or suggestions.

June Nail Art Challenge - Day 1: Summer (500 days of Summer)

Hey guys, well I am starging this new challenge by Californails. She does challenges like these every month. I did the December challenge and I really enjoy it and as I have some time know as I'm finishing exams and stuff next week I will give this challenge a try.

Day one's theme was summer. I wasn't feeling really summerish because weather has been terrible these days, then I saw The Nailsaurus design inspired by this amazing film 500 days of Summer. And I had a brilliant idea the theme was summer right so I did summer!

I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I really like the film and the way The Nailsaurus did all these designs to represent it it's just perfect.

Here are all the colors I used including this wonderful gray which I painted my thumb with, it's new I just bought it today and I really like it.

This is just the first post of this challenge keep tuned to see more designs. I will be uploading a design for the Deadly Sins challenge soon, I haven't forgot about Envy, this week's sin. Don't forget to share, like and comment if you have any questions or suggestions. Happy polishing!
