Movember Nail Art, Moustache Party

Yell at me: shame on you Mireia for being more than one week MIA. Shame shame shame on me. After this week of hiatus I'm back at least with one new design. Uni and work have me really busy but I'm trying my best.

We have been only ten days into this month and I'm already missing summer so much. It's terribly cold but well...November, besides cold weather, is also the month of prostate cancer awareness aka Movember. So I decided to get my nails all moustached up.

Abstract Nail Art: Earth, Wind and Fire

Hello everybody! I can't believe I've been almost a week M.I.A. I have no excuse, except work work work, uni uni uni. I haven't been very inspired this last days and I really lack the energy to look into some inspiration for my designs. Halloween is coming so maybe I could do some related manis to do something new. However, today I bring a remake of a really old design. I did this nearly two years ago, see here, and they were inspired by Nailed It.

Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge - Day 8: Still Life

Happy Monday, that is if a Monday can be happy. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are starting the week fully recharged. As you all know Monday means new design for the NAGG Challenge and here it is as always.

Today's theme was still life. I have to say that not even in art class I liked it very much. I've always found still life paitings sad and dark in some way. But well I had to come up with something and I ended up doing this.

Hello guys! Starting the week with two posts is just great. I am trying to post a lot before all my exams come next month, then it will be reclusion and studying hard. Until then I have many things I want to post.

Today I have this design which was inspired by Danielle's recreation of a design by So Nailicious.

Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge - Day 5: Contrast

Hello loves! Did you have a nice Easter? Mine was wonderful, friends, party all night and sleep all day. My parents have been away and took the camera I use for my nail photos on holiday so I haven't been able to do much nail art these days. However they came back and I did a new design for the NAGG Challenge.

Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge - Day 1: Achromatic

Hello guys! It's Monday and I have really interesting new to give today. As you all know these last months have been pretty difficult ones, exams, new jobs and in consequence they have been a bit slow. Lately I told you I was going to look for some challenge to make me do some nail art at a regular basis. I am happy to announce that I am starting a new challenge today, the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go challenge put on my Missy over at Gnary Gnails.

This challenge was supposed to be done in February but I loved the themes and saved it for a time when I could do it. Recently I saw that Lindsey from Wondrously Polished  had started the challenge but hadn't continued with it. We ended up deciding it would be fun to do it together. So from now until we finish all the themes we will be posting a design on Mondays and Thursdays.

The first theme for the NAGG challenge is Achromatic, absence of color. I decided to do fun design that I came up with some time ago and still hadn't done it.

Art Deco

Hey guys! I'm here after an intense week. I've been going to Barcelona everyday from 7pm until 11pm for my temporary job. But the most intense part of it has ended and I had some time for an elaborate design.

Warhol's Flowers Tutorial

Hey guys! My laptop and I have been reunited after three long days and I have recovered the pictures for my tutorial. This is the easiest of designs, doable for anyone of you, beginners or pros. Plus it's the cutest of floral manis.

Warhol's Flowers

Hi guys! How was you Valentine's Day? I've had a wonderful weekend, I had friends over to my place, pizza, party and I even had time to do some nail art. This design, as you can tell by the title, was inspired by one of Andy Warhol's works and it's totally doable for anyone!

31 Day Challenge – Day 28: Inspired By A Flag (Warholian Union Jack)

Hey guys! Today's theme for the 31 day Challenge was inspired by a flag. At first I thought I would do the Catalan flag but I already did it this September for the ''Diada Catalana''. I decided to represent my other half. As some of you may know I'm half English, so I decided to inspire my design in the Union Jack.

I decided to make the original flag and then I tried different color combinations, as if it was an Andy Warhol artwork. I tried to use really britght colors for the rest of the designs as I really want them to stand out. For the original flag I used the most accurate colors I found in my stash. These are all the colors I used in order of appearance:

The first color combination listed above is the one I used for my thumb.

What do you think about this colorful design? It wasn't easy to paint but I had lots of fun with all the different color combinations, they look very psychedelic. I hope you liked it too and that you had a wonderful weekend. Happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge – Day 27: Inspired By Artwork (Starry Night)

Hey guys! It seems I'm doing quite fine at the moment and not leting much time pass between each post. The end of the 31 day challenge is getting closer and I've finally arrived to one of the themes I was most excited about, inspired by artwork! I decided to make my own and simplified version of Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.

I did my best to recreate a fantastic artwork. I guess everyone here is familiar with the painting, but just in case.. just in case I will post a photo here so you can see how my design doesn't make justice to one of my favorite artists.

I did what I could to recreate the effect even if the shapes aren't really accurate and as I didn't include the moon on the four nails I normally show you I decided to paint it on my thumb where I had more space.

These are the colors I used, not that much considering all the blue tones I needed but I just used my blue base color (Essence) and mixed it with other blues and black and white.

I hope you liked this design, I really enjoyed painting it and I'm quite happy of how it turned out. What do you think? Can't wait to create a new mani and end this amazing experience of the 31 nail art challenge. Happy polishing lovelies!

31 Day Challenge – Day 7: Black and White (B&W Mix and Match)

Hey guys! Just another design for the 31 day challenge. I've been wanting to do a Mix and Match mani and as the theme was just black and white I thought it would be the perfect occasion for one.

I decided to do a different design on each nail. I really just went for random designs which would look nice in black and white. At the end I was quite pleased with the result and I like them quite a lot. I used Black To The Roots by Catrice and just a white base color by Belle.

I'm sorry about the quality of the picture today. My parents are away on vacation and they took the good camera away so I had to take my photos with another one.

What do you think about this Mix and Match design? I hope you like it and see you on the next 31 day challenge mani. Happy polishing!
