Scream! This is Halloween!

Hey guys! I'm back with another design for this Halloween themed week. This time I chose to inspire my design in a classic ''Nightmare Before Christmas'', one of my favorite movies ever. It has the best songs right?

I tried to put different elements from the film on the nails and I'm really happy with how they turned out, specially because the lines on the designs are quite clean and neat. I also like the design on my thumb, purple and yellow look great!

I was lucky to find quite the right colors for all the designs, here are all the ones I used:

I hope you liked this design inspired by ''Nightmare Before Christmas''. I'm looking forward to creating more spooky halloween designs, any suggestions? What things would you like to see? Let me know and happy polishing!

Skeleton and Sugar Skull Tutorial

Hey guys well as promissed a full tutorial on my 5 de Mayo nails! This tutorial is for both the skeleton and the sugar skull on my thumbs. Let’s get the show started!

1. For the upper part of the skeleton paint your nail with a base coat and then pain it black (pain it, paint it blaaack!) sorry ahahaha, well paint it black and then draw a line on the tip of your nail. It doesn’t have to touch your tip you need to let some space for the theeth. The line should be like a zig zag, not a straight line.

2. Draw the head conecting the ends of the line you’ve done.

3. Fill in the head with white polish.

4. With a dotting tool make the eyes and nose. The nose is just an inverted heart. With a dotting tool make the teeth. Just make the dot and slide it to the tip of your nail.

1. For the inferior part of the skeleton paint your nail with a base coat and then pain it black. With white polish make the spine fo the skeleton starting with a little triangle and then make little squares that will be bigger as you get closer to the tip of your nail. The squares don’t have to be even as you can see.

2. To do the ribs just grab a brush or a toothpick and make a curved line that will be thicker near the spine.

3. Make all the ribs which will get longer as you approach the tip of your nail.

4. On the tip of your nail make like a smiley mouth, it mustn’t toucht the tip, you have to leave space for the teeth!

5. Turn the smiley mouth into a semicircle. As we did for the teeth beffore the line must be uneven. Then fill the semicircle with white polish.

6. Using the same technique as before to make the teeth, with a dotting tool make the dot and slide it to the tip of your nail.

1. To create a lovely sugar skull paint your nail with a base coat and then as a base color use white polish. With a dotting tool create the eyes and with a really thin dotting tool or  brush or whatever make a triangle for the nose.

2. Draw a smiley face, if you want your skull to be smiling. And with little semicircles go around it.

3. With a dotting tool make like a little flower where the eyes are. Just five dots around the dot we had already created.

4. With a smaller dotting tool and different colours go over the little flower.
5. Put all the colors inside the flower

6. Make a dot in the middle fo the flower with black polish to create the centre of the eye.

Here you have all the steps to recreate my 5 de Mayo nail design. I hope you try it out. If you do let me know, post the link to the post on a comment. Don’t forget to like and share. Happy Polishing.

5 de Mayo!

Hi guys well I’ve wanted to do skulls and skeletons o my nails for quite a long time and I thought that as today in Mexico they celebrate ”El día de los muertos” today would be a great day to try this design.

Excuse my awkward hand pose but it was the only way to show the effect of this deisgn. I had seen nail art like this on the internet and it was time I tried it myself. To be honest I had just once done something like this that the two hands complement each other’s design so it’s not that bad for the first time.

So on my left hand I did the skull and the upper theeth.

And on my right hand I did the lower theeth and the ribs.

You will be wondering what did I do on my thumbs. Well I have also wanted to add a bit of color to my design and make it more fun, so on my thumb I did a cute sugar skull. The teeth came out a bit awkward but I really like how the colors in the eyes match and stand out over black and white.

These are all the colors I used for this design. It’s mainly black and white and then the colors of the little flowers on the eyes which I made with dotting tools of two different sizes.

Are any of you mexican? I would love to know what you think about my design and how you celebrate this day. I hope you like it and don’t forget to like, share and comment for any questions or suggestions. Keep tunned because I will be uploading tutorials on this design, yes on the three different things so you can do them yourselves for halloween or whenever you want. Happy polishing and happy 5 de Mayo for all the mexican people around here!
This design is also part of Polish Days by Polly Polish, the theme was five so 5 de Mayo it is. This is the first time I take part in the Polish Days and I will try to be more alert for the next one.
